Heaven in the Bible
262. saint
The Catholic Church defines a saint as a person who is in heaven--made official by a church process called "canonization."  but the New Testament applies "saint" to all believers, people called to be God's holy ones while living in the sinful world.  Some saints are more "saintly" than others, but all believers whose lives are led by the spirit are destined for eternal life.  The New Testament epistles make it clear that saints had to be reminded that they belonged to God and their lives should show it.
(Eph. 4:1; Col. 1:10; 2 Cor. 8:4).
